The 41st Annual Interfaith of Topeka Community Thanksgiving Service will be held at 6:30 pm on Sunday, November 21 at the Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 SE Michigan Ave, Topeka. The event will also be livestreamed on the Interfaith of Topeka Facebook page.
There is a special joy when we are able to gather together with friends, family, and as a community. Thanksgiving traditions often embrace the joy of gathering together and the title for this year’s service, “A Joyful Gathering”, reflects this aspect of Thanksgiving. Members of our community will be sharing how they experience joy in the awareness of life, joy in fellowship, and joy in service. We invite the community to come and share in the joy as we explore common ground among our different beliefs and faiths.
Each year, Interfaith of Topeka selects an organization to be the recipient of funds raised at the Thanksgiving event. This year, the Topeka Youth Project was selected to receive the proceeds of the freewill offering collected during the service. The Topeka Youth Project seems to empower youth in Topeka and Shawnee County by providing programs that help with internships, jobs, training, and leadership skills.
