Worship is central to the life of the United Methodist Christian. The unique character of a Christian is that faith is experienced and lived out in a community. While devotion, study, service, and fellowship round out the Christian life, praising God together is at its core. Balance between congregational worship and personal devotion is stressed.
Worship at Highland Park Church offers a comfortable blend of the traditional and the unique.
The 8:00 a.m. chapel service offers the feel of the small country church with all its warmth and charm for those who seek an intimate, less formal setting.
The 10:30 a.m. sanctuary service of morning prayer and praise offers a larger, more formal setting with organ, choir (in season) and other special music as well as variety of liturgical experiences. Our sanctuary is a beautiful space to praise the Lord.
The Lord’s Supper is offered on the first Sunday of the month. All who come are invited to the Lord’s Table.
Cultural diversity in worship is our goal. To the extent we can, we draw upon many worship sources and expressions. With an ethnically diverse preaching team, different styles and textures enhance our worship.
In addition, special worship services including youth services, special focus worship, and liturgical year observances enhance our worship.
No specific dress code is observed. This creates a more welcoming and colorful experience each time we come together to praise the Lord.
We strive to accommodate the needs of people with disabilities. Ample handicap parking is available on the east side of the church and in the south parking lot. Our church is also equipped with ramps to make it readily accessible. Additionally, hearing receivers connected to our sound system are available from any of our ushers, and audio tapes of the services are available through the church office.
Nursery services are available!
