Our Pastor
Senior Pastor: Lynn Lamberty
Pastor Lynn Lamberty was Senior Pastor of University Methodist Church in Kansas City, Kansas for eleven years before coming to Highland Park. In his time at University, his church became increasingly engaged in outreach, especially with children and youth. The church also changed to become very diverse ethnically, economically and in age.
Pastor Lamberty graduated from Saint Paul School of Theology with an M.Div. in May, 2000. Prior to that, he had been a lawyer for 15 years, practicing in a variety of locations in Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. His last seven years of practice focused on providing legal assistance to death row inmates in their appeals in Oklahoma and Texas. Pastor Lamberty graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School in May, 1980.
Pastor Lamberty is committed to making disciples for Jesus Christ, church renewal, and bringing Good News to the poor and marginalized in his community. He is excited about coming to Highland Park. "I look forward to forming a great partnership," he said recently, "with the wonderful congregation at Highland Park United Methodist Church. There is much I have to learn from the members there and many things that I would like to share as we work together to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ."
